You will need to answer a few simple questions to set up an account to use the EAP online calculator.Take a look at our user guides and resources to get started.

The information you will need to enter into the AIA EAP will vary depending on the commodities you produce on your enterprise. You can refer to the user resources on our help page, which will tell you the types of information you need.

Scope 1 Direct greenhouse gas emissions that occur from sources that are owned or controlled by the reporting entity. Examples for agricultural enterprises include enteric methane from livestock and nitrous oxide from applied fertiliser. Scope 2 Indirect greenhouse gas emissions from the generation of purchased or acquired electricity, steam, heating or cooling consumed by an entity. Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions physically occur at the facility where electricity is generated. Scope 3 Indirect greenhouse gas emissions (not included in Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions) that occur in the value chain of an entity, including both upstream (pre-farm) and downstream (post-farm gate) emissions. Examples include purchased goods, employee commuting, downstream processing, transport and distribution. For agricultural products, we typically include pre-farm emissions but the boundary for the analysis is typically the farm gate (unless the analysis is based on a finished product like a bottle of wine).

A typical farm greenhouse gas account is based on 12 months of data. This can either be a calendar year, financial year or based on an actual production cycle. If the typical production cycle is longer than 12 months, for example sugar cane, we then annualise the data for the purposes of the calculator. In cropping systems, this may require a full rotation (e.g. Wheat, pasture, pulse crop) which could either be put in as concurrent crops or on a 5-year annualised basis. Annualising the data means, for example, you run the calculator through one entire production cycle then divide the total by the number of months and multiply by 12. For a cropping system on a five year rotation, run through one entire rotation, then divide by 5. You will need to select a reporting date range for your Greenhouse Gas Emissions report that matches your input data date ranges.

You can either zoom in on the map to your location using your mouse scroll or trackpad, OR type your address/location in the Search bar at the top of the map. You can also use alpha-numeric Land Parcel ID. Click on your mouse to drag and move around the map. Once you have zoomed in, you can select individual parcels of land. You can add as many parcels of land as needed. You can turn on/off property Boundaries (Parcels) from the Map Layers option at the bottom left of the map area.

Yes, you can create as many properties to your account as you need. From the All properties screen, click on New Property to add each subsequent property to your account.

The calculation model relies on some assumptions based on whether your property gets enough rainfall or irrigation to drain through the soil profile. Where drainage occurs, it is assumed that some soil nitrate is carried with the drainage water through the soil profile, orange surface runoff, releasing some nitrous oxide off site either in a wetland or in a subsequent river system. This indirect source of nitrous oxide needs to be accounted for within the calculation model.

Yes, you can select as many enterprises/commodities relevant to your property from the drop-down list on the New property and Edit property screen. Make sure you include pasture, cropping and planting if relevant.

Yes, provided you click on the Done or Save button once your data has been entered, it will be stored and you will be able to add or edit data when you login again.

Select the pencil icon next to the heading of the information that you wish to change.

Data privacy and security are at the core of the design of the AIA EAP.Producers have full control of their data.Users with an AIA EAP account can choose to share their own data with whomever they choose, such as existing service providers, consultants, banks and supply chains, as well as to share de-identified and aggregated data for research purposes. You may add and remove team members to your account who will have access to your data until you remove them - refer to 'How do I share my data with others' FAQ.AIA will only access de-identified and aggregated data for the purposes of providing the carbon footprinting service, improving the algorithms and for developing insights to support more effective industry decision-making and strategy development.

Click on the Account button on the top right-hand side of the screen, then select My Teams. You can edit your team name by clicking on the pencil icon and then clicking on the green tick to save. Use the Invite Member feature to add others to your team. You can assign them as an Administrator, Contributor or Viewer, depending on the level of access you would like them to have. Once you have invited a member to your team, they will receive an email with instructions on how to accept the invitation and create an account. When they have joined your team, they will appear in your Team Members list on the My Teams screen.

On the My Teams screen, click on the trash icon next to the person’s name you wish to remove from your team and select Confirm. The person you removed will not get a notification that they have been removed, however they will no longer be able to access your data.

Check that you have selected a reporting date range that matches your input data date ranges. Click on the date range in the Greenhouse Gas Emissions screen to select the appropriate time frame. Also check that you have correctly allocated your Energy and commodity consumption data to your business activities.

Only allocate the percentage attributable to each specific business activity that it was used for. In the event that not all activities undertaken on that property have emissions calculators associated with them but do consume an amount of the total energy/fuel entered, then there may be a remaining unallocated balance (this does not impact the activities you are accounting for).
